Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By using app.maqraa.org, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. Self-hosting has its own terms under AGPL-3.0.
2. User account
- You're responsible for the secrecy of your password and the activity of your account.
- You must be at least 13 to use the platform. For minors between 13 and 18, parental permission is preferred.
- Registration info must be accurate. Fake accounts are deleted.
3. Acceptable conduct
The platform is meant for teaching the Quran. The following uses are prohibited:
- Using the platform for any non-Quranic educational purpose
- Harassing teachers or other students
- Uploading inappropriate content
- Attempting to hack or abuse the infrastructure
- Using the platform to break local laws
4. Intellectual property
- Platform code: under AGPL-3.0 — see GitHub.
- Quran content: Quran texts are public domain. QCF V2 fonts are used under license from the King Fahd Complex.
- Recitations and corrections: belong to the users who created them. We claim no rights over them.
- The name and logo "Maqraa": belong to the project. Commercial use requires explicit permission.
5. Service "as is"
The platform is provided "as is" with no warranties. We do our best to provide a reliable service, but outages may occur for maintenance or technical reasons. We recommend teachers keep backups of their important circle data.
6. Pricing and payments
The core platform is free. Institute services are priced under separate agreements, outside these terms.
7. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from settings. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
8. Modifications
We update these terms as needed. Material changes are announced in advance. Continued use of the platform after the change means acceptance.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the local laws of where the platform operates. Disputes are resolved amicably first, and if not, through arbitration.
